Choosing a get well plant

Low demands, first. Someone recovering has a finite amount of attention and none of it should go on a plant, so look for foliage that handles lower light and forgives an irregular watering. Keep the size sensible too. A plant that needs a spot cleared for it is a small job handed to someone who isn't up to jobs. The easy-care end of our plant gifts range is the place to start.

After surgery, and recovery at home

Recovery at home is longer and duller than most people expect, and the messages tend to stop after the first week. A plant is still in the room in the third week, which is the part that drags. Something with new growth visible is worth choosing here, because watching a leaf unfurl is a genuinely decent way to mark time passing.

Sending to a hospital stay

Send it home rather than to the ward where you can. Hospital stays end with someone carrying bags to the car, wards often have their own rules about what comes in, and a plant waiting at home is better than one that has to be transported. If you do send to a hospital, check the ward's policy and make sure the address sits in a suburb we cover.

Self care, and sending one to yourself

Plenty of these orders are people buying for themselves, and that's a perfectly good reason to order. If you're between things, or just home and bored of it, greenery in the room you're stuck in does more than it sounds like it should. When it will arrive
