Happy Birthday Plants

A present that outlasts the birthday

Most birthday gifts are finished within a week. A plant isn't. It sits on a desk or a windowsill and keeps going, and a year later it's visibly bigger than it was when it turned up. That's a different kind of present, and it tends to get remembered.

Choosing one for the person, not the occasion

Think about where it will actually live. A bright kitchen windowsill suits something quite different from a desk in an office with no window nearby. If you don't know their place well, pick something that handles lower light, since that's the situation a plant is most likely to struggle in.

Milestone birthday plants

A milestone birthday gets more thought than the ones in between, and a plant scales up well for it. Choose something larger and more sculptural than you would for an ordinary birthday, and pick for a spot in the main room rather than a windowsill. A 30th or a 60th marked with a plant is still being marked by it several birthdays later.

First birthday plants

A first birthday gift is really for the parents, and they've had twelve months of things arriving for the baby. Greenery for the house is a change. Send something compact that can live up high on a shelf or a bench, out of reach once the walking starts, and easy enough to keep alive on very little sleep.

Getting it there on the day

Order before 12pm on a weekday, or before 10am on Saturday, and it's delivered the same day across the suburbs we cover. Our couriers start their run around 12:30pm and we aim to have everything delivered by 5pm. We don't deliver on Sundays, so a Sunday birthday means sending it on the Saturday. Check the address on our Brisbane delivery areas page.

Making it feel like a present

Add a pot from our indoor plant pots range, giftware or a greeting card on the product page before you check out, and write the card message yourself. The plant arrives with whatever you chose to send with it, so it's worth taking the extra minute at checkout.
