Thank You Plants

A thank you that's still on the desk in a year

Thank you plants do the job a card on its own can't quite manage. A living plant sits on the desk or the windowsill and keeps going, which is rather the point when you're thanking someone properly. Delivered across Brisbane as part of our plant gift delivery Brisbane service.

Thank You Plants

Choosing a thank you plant

Pick something that suits where it'll sit rather than the size of the favour. Most thank you plants end up on a desk or a kitchen bench, so compact and easy-care beats large and demanding. If you haven't seen their place, choose foliage that tolerates lower light, because that's the situation a plant is most likely to struggle in.

Congratulations and promotion plants

A congratulations plant marks the thing without making a fuss of it. It works particularly well for a promotion, since it lands at the office, stays at the office, and keeps growing through the part of the job that's actually hard. Something upright with glossy leaves reads as a proper gift on a shared desk.

Graduation and new job plants

Both mark a start rather than an end, which a plant suits better than something finished by the weekend. For a new job, send it to the home address in the first week rather than the workplace, because a new starter may not have a desk of their own yet. For a graduation, a plant moves house well, and at that age most things do get moved.

Retirement and appreciation

Retirement gifts have a habit of being ornamental. A plant isn't. It comes home, it goes somewhere with light, and it asks for a small amount of looking after, which is the good part. For appreciation generally, when someone's helped you out and there's no occasion attached, a plant is an easier thing to accept than something expensive.

Adding a pot, and getting it there

Add a pot from our indoor plant pots range and a greeting card on the product page before you check out, and write the card message yourself. Order before 12pm on a weekday, or before 10am on Saturday, and we deliver the same day across the suburbs we cover. Check an address on our Brisbane delivery areas page.

Common questions

Can you deliver a thank you plant the same day?

Yes, if your order is in before 12pm on a weekday or before 10am on Saturday. Our couriers start their run around 12:30pm and we aim to have every order delivered by 5pm. There are no Sunday deliveries.

Can I send one to an office?

Yes, as long as the address is in a suburb we cover and someone's there during the day. Our couriers run from around 12:30pm and aim to finish by 5pm, which suits most workplaces. Put the company name on the address.

What should the card say?

Name the thing you're thanking them for. Greeting cards are an add-on you choose on the product page and you write the message yourself, so one specific line reads better than three general ones.

Which plant suits a work desk?

Something compact that copes with lower light. Desks rarely sit near a window and overhead lighting isn't much help, so a plant that tolerates shade will still look right in a month.

How much is delivery?

Delivery is a flat $19.95 to any suburb we cover, and it goes to our own couriers rather than a third-party service.
